Context
ProAbono takes into account and keeps track of trial period usage to prevent a client from switching between trial periods of different subscriptions indefinitely.
The goal is to be fair and equitable in the usage of your service.
If you have created multiple offers, each containing a trial period, and you allow for offer changes between them, ProAbono will adjust to provide the maximum available trial period duration.
Use Cases
Offer Change to an Equivalent Trial Period
Subscription A | Subscription B |
2 months trial period | 2 months trial period |
Here, the client subscribed to subscription A on January 10. They then decide to change to subscription B on February 10 to test it out (thus utilizing the first month of the trial period of subscription A).
Subscription B also has a 2-month trial period.
Since the client has already used 1 month of the trial period (on their previous subscription A), they will have only 1 month of the trial period remaining out of the 2 months initially offered with subscription B.
Offer Change to a Longer Trial Period
Subscription A | Subscription B |
15 days trial period | 2 months trial period |
Here, the client subscribed to subscription A on January 10. They then decide to change to subscription B on January 25 to test it out (thus utilizing the 15 days of the trial period of subscription A).
Subscription B has a 2-month trial period.
Since the client has already used 15 days of the trial period (on their previous subscription A), they will have only 1 month and 15 days of the trial period remaining out of the 2 months initially offered with subscription B.
Offer Change to a Shorter Trial Period
Subscription A | Subscription B |
15 days trial period | 2 months trial period |
Here, the client subscribed to subscription B on January 10. They then decide to change to subscription A on February 25 to test it out (thus utilizing 1 month and 15 days of the trial period of subscription B).
Subscription A has only a 15-day trial period.
Since the client has already used 1 month and 15 days of the trial period (on their previous subscription B), they no longer have access to the trial period. They will start directly on the paid part of their new subscription A.
