Context
The offer change feature allows your client to switch from their current subscription to another offer in your catalog.
In other words, this functionality enables your clients to explore all the variations in your catalog and have autonomy in evolving their usage of your service.

Understanding the concept of Upgrade
This change allows for transitioning to a new subscription. The old subscription will be canceled, and a new subscription will start based on the chosen new offer during the change.
This maintains a history of your client’s different subscriptions.
At ProAbono, offer change is configured to be immediate by default. However, you can modify this behavior so that the change takes effect at the end of the current period.
Note: Offer change is possible once you have created at least 2 offers, and these 2 offers belong to the same segment.
Upgrade | Immediate | At Renewal |
Prorated Calculation | Yes | No |
Balance Consumptions | Yes | Yes |
Create an invoice during offer change | No | Yes |

Immediate Upgrade
By default, ProAbono is configured to allow Immediate upgrade. It does not impose any limits on the autonomy of your clients in their decision-making process.
Example:
Let’s consider a monthly subscription A at €100/month starting from January 10. Your client requests an offer change on March 25 to an offer B at €180/month.
Here’s how ProAbono will handle the change:
- The first 15 days of the 3rd period will be billed with subscription A, totaling €50.
- The last 15 days of the 3rd period were paid in advance on March 10, totaling €50, and will be credited.
- The last 15 days of the 3rd period will be billed based on the pricing of the new offer chosen by the client, totaling €90.
In conclusion, your client will have paid the first half of the 3rd period at the rate of their initial subscription (A) and the second half at the rate of their new subscription (B), resulting in a total of €50 + €90 = €130.
Then, on April 10, your client will pay the rate of their new subscription for a full period, amounting to €180.
Upgrade at Renewal
It is also possible to carry out upgrade at the end of the current period. This avoids prorated calculations and allows for an upgrade at the beginning of a new period.
