Context
General terms and conditions are legal documents that govern the business relationship between a service provider and a customer.
There are two types of general terms and conditions:
- The Terms of Sale (conditions générales de vente or CGV) govern the contractual relationship between a professional and their customer.
> Required unless the website only sells to professionals (B2B) - The Terms of Use (conditions générales d’utilisation or CGU) encompass the general rules of using a website.
> Not mandatory
In all cases, they must be accepted by the customer.
If you want to require your customers to accept your Terms of Use/Sale during the subscription process, you just need to enable an option from the Back Office.
Procedure
- From the left menu, go to the “Settings” section.
- Then click on “General Settings“.
- Then click on “Segment Settings“.
- Click on the “Terms of Sale Page” field and enter the URL (pointing to your website) that contains the description of your Terms of Use/Sale.
Once the field is correctly filled, a checkbox and the link to the provided URL will be displayed during the payment validation step of the subscription process.
Your customers will only be able to finalize the start of the subscription if they check the box confirming that they have read and agreed to your general terms and conditions.
