In Short
Section titled “In Short”A customer balance line can be deleted as long as it is in state Due — not invoiced yet — whether it was created automatically or by hand. A deleted line is no longer invoiced, and the deletion is permanent. The line remains visible in the Balance history.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”On the customer’s billing date, the balance lines in state Due are gathered onto an invoice. A line deleted before that date is not on it. Once invoiced, a line can no longer be deleted: its amount sits on an issued invoice.
- Open Invoicing and search for the customer.
- Open the customer’s Next invoice section.
- Open Actions → Add or remove lines.
- Delete the line.
- Save.
Specific Cases
Section titled “Specific Cases”- A line already invoiced. It can no longer be deleted. To waive that amount, the invoice carrying it is voided while it is unpaid (Void an Invoice), or refunded once paid (How to refund an invoice?).
- A line deleted by mistake. The deletion is permanent, so the line cannot be restored. An equivalent line can be added by hand, with the same label and amount.
