Grayed-Out Invoice Now Action

Invoice Now immediately bills every line of the customer balance whose due date has passed; the others stay in the balance until their date is reached. When nothing is due, the action is unavailable.

An invoice is built from the customer balance, never from the subscription directly. Lines are added to the balance at a renewal, when an option is enabled, or by hand, and each one carries its own due date: the moment from which it can be billed.

Invoice Now reads that date against the current moment. A line whose due date has passed is gathered onto the invoice; a line dated even one second later is not, and waits in the balance until its date has come. Nothing is billed ahead of its due date.

  1. Open the customer’s balance and check that it holds lines.
  2. If it does, check the due date of each line.
  • The invoice comes to € 0.00. Where credit lines offset the amounts due, an invoice is still issued, for zero.
  • The balance holds only credit lines. An invoice is never negative, so none can be issued and Invoice Now is unavailable. The lines stay in the balance.
  • The next billing date is close. Where nothing needs to be billed early, waiting for the scheduled date bills the same lines without an extra invoice.
