To understand the general regulatory context (legal timeline, distinction between accredited platform for receiving and issuing), see the article « E-invoicing in France: legal timeline and the role of accredited platforms ».
In summary — By connecting your existing Pennylane account, or by creating a free Pennylane account directly from ProAbono, you bring your invoicing into compliance with the requirements of the French e-invoicing reform (RFE).
The e-invoicing reform (RFE)
The e-invoicing reform (RFE) requires all French companies to use an accredited platform to issue and receive their invoices. In practice, this involves two obligations:
- Issuing your electronic invoices in the required structured format, to your customers,
- Aggregating your invoices — both sales and purchases — for your accounting.
The partnership with Pennylane addresses both of these obligations through a single integration. ProAbono has chosen to handle this topic on your behalf, so that you don’t have to manage compliance yourself.
The ProAbono × Pennylane partnership
ProAbono has partnered with Pennylane, one of the leading accounting players in France, which is itself an accredited platform registered with the tax administration. This partnership enables automatic integration between ProAbono and Pennylane: as a ProAbono customer, you have no steps to take to be compliant on e-invoicing.
In practice, ProAbono manages the entire chain for you:
- invoicing your subscriptions and recurring sales;
- collecting payment for invoices from your customers;
- synchronization with payment operators;
- the automatic sending of electronic invoices, compliant with the regulatory format, via the Pennylane accredited platform;
- payment tracking;
- reporting payments back into Pennylane, so that your accounting is always up to date.
With minimal configuration, no development work, and no additional cost, this integration allows you to be compliant with the regulation. This means you can focus on growing your services and your revenue, while ProAbono takes care of invoicing, payment collection, and regulatory compliance.
Is the Pennylane partnership compatible with your current organization?
As explained in the article « E-invoicing in France: legal timeline and the role of accredited platforms », the requirement to have only one accredited platform applies only to receiving invoices (so that your suppliers know where to send theirs). It does not apply to issuing invoices.
This means the ProAbono × Pennylane partnership does not lock you into any constraint. Within your company, you could very well have one department invoicing through ProAbono (connected to Pennylane), and another department using a different invoicing tool, connected to a different accredited platform. Both issuing flows coexist without any regulatory conflict, as long as your receiving accredited platform remains unique.
Which configuration matches your situation?
Two scenarios come up most often among our customers:
- You already have your own accredited platform for receiving. In this case, Pennylane’s PA is simply configured for issuing the flows invoiced through ProAbono. Your receiving continues to use your usual platform, with no change on your end.
- You don’t yet have an accredited platform. In this case, Pennylane becomes your single accredited platform, for both receiving and issuing, and ProAbono simply feeds it with your invoicing data.
In both cases, you have nothing to manage technically: ProAbono handles the configuration suited to your situation.
This partnership lets you stay focused on your core business — growing your activity, your offerings, and your recurring revenue — while ProAbono takes care of your customer subscriptions, recurring billing, automatic payment collection, and regulatory compliance.
