There are 2 ways to remove the ability for the Customers to terminate a Subscription by themselves :
- by setting up a minimum duration in the offers
- with a General Setting of the Customer Portal
1 – Minimum Duration parameter in Offers (Remove Temporarily the ability)
If you use this parameter, you have to know :
- This parameter is NOT general. It must be set up in each offers which can not be terminated by the customers themselves.
- As an admin, you still can terminate the subscriptions of your customers from the backoffice, or the API.
- The Minimum duration prevents the customer to terminate its subscription for the given number of recurrences. The trial period is not counted as a recurrence.
- This parameter can be set up at any moment : when you create an offer or after. If you set up this Minimum Duration parameter in an offer which has been already subscribed by some customers, this parameter will not be populated in theirs subscriptions. Only to new subscriptions. See article “Differences between an Offer and a Subscription”.
Example :
In this example, customers who will subscribe to this offer will be able to terminate the subscriptions based on this offer for 3 months ( = Minimum occurences X Charging Frequence = 3 * 1 month).
2 – General setting parameter (Remove permamently the ability)
If you use the general setting, you have to know :
- Customers can not terminate ANY subscriptions by themselves.
- Adding a Minimum Duration in the Offers will not impact this setting.
- As an admin, you still can terminate the subscriptions of your customers from the backoffice, or the API.
From the backoffice, Menu “Settings”, Submenu “Hosted pages” – “Customer portal”. Then click on “Buttons” from “Suscription tab” to access to the termination button configuration.
Then choose do not show the “Terminate” button
See the result in the Customer Portal :
Before removing the “Terminate” Button
After removing the “Terminate” Button
Customers can not terminate any subscriptions.
